The Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments, also known as GO Health, work every day to help ensure the safety of the water we drink, the food we eat, and the air we breathe. Members of the community may not always see the work done by local health departments, but people live healthier lives and are safer because of it.
GO Health helps create and maintain conditions in communities that support healthier choices in areas such as diet, exercise, and tobacco use. The department leads efforts that prevent and reduce the effects of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer. GO Health also detects and helps stop outbreaks of diseases like measles, tuberculosis, and foodborne illness, protects children and adults through immunization, and conducts programs that help make communities healthier.
Everyone achieving an optimal level of health and well-being.
