The Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program supports a prepared and resilient community through planning, training, drills, exercises, outreach, and emergency response. We facilitate response to existing and emerging public health threats through multi-agency coordination and oversee the Medical Reserve Corps of the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments (GO Health MRC.)

Volunteer with the GO Health MRC

This local medical reserve corps (MRC) unit allows all types of volunteers to come together for regular public health needs and respond to public health emergencies. These volunteers help build a safe, resilient, and healthy community.

Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD)

COADs allow communication and collaboration at times of need. Members may include nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, businesses, and others. These organizations support the local community when most needed.

First Aid & Safety Trainings

There are many first aid and other community safety trainings open to the public. Unless charged by any outside accrediting body, there are no costs for these trainings. Remember, you are most likely the first responder for people you care about most.
