Summary of findings (February 25 – May 6, 2026):

Cocaine (parent) / Benzoylecgonine (metabolite): Average parent concentrations spiked in April but remained below the national and regional averages. Average metabolite concentrations have remained above regional and national averages but have steeply increased since the end of March before beginning to decline in April. Benzoylecgonine had overall higher average concentrations compared to cocaine.

Fentanyl (parent) / Norfentanyl (metabolite): Average parent and metabolite concentrations stayed low or below detection through the end of March. After that point, concentrations began to rise. This upward trend continued for the metabolite concentrations only, while parent concentrations began to decrease. Parent and metabolite concentrations remained significantly below regional and national averages.

Methamphetamine (parent) / Amphetamine (metabolite): Both the parent and metabolite have remained relatively stable. Methamphetamine concentrations remained below regional and national averages and amphetamine concentrations have remained below national averages and above regional averages. Methamphetamine had overall average concentrations higher than amphetamine.

Xylazine (parent) / 4-Hydroxyxylazine (metabolite): Neither the parent nor metabolite had detectable concentrations.

Trans-3’-Hydroxycotinine (metabolite of nicotine): Trans-3’-Hydroxycotinine concentrations were well above regional and national averages.

Cocaine (parent) / Benzoylecgonine (metabolite)
