Mission Statement

The Genesee County Manager's Office serves as the general administrative office responsible for oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations of all county functions, programs, and services provided for the benefit of its citizens under the guidance and supervision of the County Legislature.

Function

Genesee County is a non-chartered county. For this reason, the Manager’s authority, power, and responsibilities are directly dependent upon the direction of the nine County Legislators. The County Manager serves at the pleasure of and works directly for the County Legislature.

The Manager is responsible for carrying out the policies established by the Legislature and is charged with the overall supervision and coordination of all county departments. The Manager’s Office serves as the liaison between County departments and the County Legislature.
