Genesee County is working to expand and strengthen local housing opportunities by supporting development, coordinating resources, pursuing funding, and connecting residents, municipalities and community partners with helpful programs and information.

Vacant Rental Program

The program is designed to help renovate and reoccupy vacant rental units, increasing housing availability and supporting neighborhood stability.

Current Needs Assessment

The purpose of this update is to help housing providers, housing developers, municipalities, Genesee County agencies, and not-for-profit organizations better understand the County’s housing market.

County Infrastructure Grant Program

Under New York’s County Infrastructure Grant Program, Empire State Development will provide up to $100 million in grants to support county-led infrastructure projects across the State, with enhanced awards for projects supporting the creation of housing.
