USDA Rural Development

A federal agency dedicated to improving the economy and quality of life in rural communities across the nation. Funds are currently available to residents in Genesee County to purchase or repair single family homes. We have several financial programs that support essential public facilities and services, such as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities, and electric and telephone service. • Downloadable 502 Application(PDF, 439KB) : For customers looking to purchase homes and make repairs (no down payment required, no PMI, low interest rate, and flexible credit criteria).
• Downloadable 504 Application(PDF, 461KB) : For current homeowners to repair their homes (low interest rate and/or grants, dependent on eligibility).
