The GLOW Committee was created in 1987 as a cooperative effort between the Counties of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming whose purpose was to develop strategies for the management of solid waste in the region. Orleans County ended its affiliation with the GLOW at the end of 2003.

Mission:

GLOW is an Inter-County agency that provides leadership in solid waste issues for residents, businesses, and municipalities. GLOW's leadership includes education, resources, and direct services.

Collection Events

Our 2025 Paint Collection was on May 17, 2025.  For sooner disposal, any Sherwin Williams store will accept any brand of oil or latex paint free of charge. for other paint disposal locations, use this link: Paint Drop Off Sites

Our 2025 Household Hazardous Waste Collection was held on August 23, 2025.  Dates for next years events are to be determined. For sooner disposal, Hazman in Tonawanda and EcoPark in Victor are the two closest options to get rid of hazardous waste.

Our 2025 Electronics Collection was held on September 20, 2025.  Dates for next years events are to be determined. For sooner disposal, Casella ARC accepts electronics on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week, and Sunnking in Brockport accepts them Monday-Thursday every week.
