The GLOW Committee was created in 1987 as a cooperative effort between the Counties of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming to develop strategies for the management of solid waste in the region. Orleans County ended its affiliation with GLOW at the end of 2003.
Mission
GLOW is an inter-county agency that provides leadership on solid waste issues for residents, businesses, and municipalities. GLOW’s leadership includes education, resources, and direct services.
Collection Events
Paint Collection
The 2026 Paint Collection will be held on September 19, 2026. Registration will open in May.
For earlier disposal, any Sherwin-Williams store accepts any brand of oil or latex paint free of charge.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The 2026 Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held on August 29, 2026. Registration will open in May.
For earlier disposal, Hazman in Tonawanda and EcoPark in Victor are the closest regional options for hazardous waste disposal.
Electronics Collection
The 2026 Electronics Collection will be held on September 26, 2026. Registration will open in May.
For earlier disposal, Casella ARC in Batavia accepts electronics every Wednesday and Saturday, and Sunnking in Brockport accepts electronics Monday through Thursday each week.
