Genesee County law enforcement agencies, including the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and Batavia Police Department, are participating in a coordinated effort with the Genesee County STOP-DWI program to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving.

In a combined effort to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives law enforcement officers across New York State are actively engaged in efforts to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives. The statewide campaign runs through Sunday, November 30th.

  • Plan a safe ride home.

  • Call a taxi, a ride service or a sober friend.

  • Help save a life - if someone has been consuming drugs or alcohol; do not let that person get behind the wheel.  Take their keys and help them arrange a safe ride home.

STOP-DWI efforts across New York State have led to significant reductions in the numbers of alcohol and drug related fatalities, still too many lives are being lost because of crashes caused by drunk or impaired drivers.  Highly visible, highly publicized efforts like the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign aim to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving.

One poor choice can change your life forever.  Choose to drive sober.
