Batavia, NY — The Genesee County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be impacted by a statewide New York State DMV system upgrade scheduled for mid-February, resulting in temporary office closures.

The Genesee County DMV will close at noon on Friday, February 13. The office will also be closed on Monday, February 16, in observance of the holiday, and Tuesday, February 17, due to the statewide DMV system shutdown associated with the upgrade.

During this period, all DMV services will be unavailable. Residents who need to complete time-sensitive transactions are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and complete their business prior to the closure.

At this time, the Genesee County DMV is expected to reopen on Wednesday, February 18, pending confirmation that the statewide system upgrades have been fully completed. As staff and customers transition to the new system, residents are asked to please extend grace and patience, as some transactions may take additional time during the initial rollout period.

Additional updates will be shared if there are any changes to the reopening schedule.
