Published on August 01, 2025
The Genesee County Youth Bureau is sharing information from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regarding available funding to support youth sports programs for the 2025–2026 program year. Local organizations that offer sports or recreational programming for youth are encouraged to review the funding opportunities and consider applying.
Two state-administered funding streams are currently available:
1. Youth Sports Education and Opportunities Fund (YSEF): Supports a wide range of physical activities and recreation programs. Open to not-for-profit agencies, community organizations, and municipal youth bureaus.
2. Youth Team Sports Allocation (YTS): Designed specifically to support organized team sports. Available to not-for-profit and community-based organizations, and in some cases, municipal youth bureaus.
Municipal youth bureaus distribute funding - grant awards may be up to $50,000.
All applicants must complete the OCFS-5011 Universal Application for Youth Sports Funding and may need to submit additional documentation as required by the Youth Bureau. Funding covers programs operating between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.
