Genesee County will begin roadwork on Townline Road on Friday, October 9, 2026, to remove the previous surface treatment and prepare for a new paving treatment.
The work follows an issue in September when the previous treatment did not adhere properly to the roadway. Crews will mill off that treatment on October 9.
Beginning Tuesday, October 13, crews will apply a new paving treatment along the entire length of Townline Road, from Route 19 in Bergen to Route 237 in Byron. Paving is expected to take four days, October 13–16, weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances.
Intermittent road closures may occur during working hours as traffic and safety conditions require. School buses and emergency vehicles will be able to travel through the work area with minimal delays.
All roads will remain open and unrestricted overnight each day.
Motorists should allow extra travel time, use caution in the work area and follow directions from crews.
