Rose Road Bridge Replacement Project to Begin August 25th
Published on August 18, 2025
The Genesee County Department of Public Works has announced that Rose Road in the Town of Batavia will be closed beginning Monday, August 25, 2025, for the Rose Road Bridge Replacement Project.
The project is expected to take approximately three months, with completion scheduled by the end of November 2025. Work includes removing the existing bridge and installing a new precast three-sided concrete frame structure supported on cast-in-place footings.
During construction, Rose Road will be closed to traffic. A posted detour will direct motorists as follows:
-
Eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Upton Road, then east on Pearl Street Road (Route 33), and south on Wortendyke Road back to Rose Road.
-
Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse: north on Wortendyke Road, west on Pearl Street Road, and south on Upton Road back to Rose Road.
The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this important project is completed.
