Public Invited to Genesee 2050 Update Presentation
Published on August 27, 2025
Genesee County invites residents, stakeholders, and local officials to attend the 2025 Update Presentation for Genesee 2050, the County’s comprehensive plan, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 6:15 PM in the Old County Courthouse, 7 Main Street, Batavia.
Genesee 2050 is designed to guide the future of the county by leveraging lessons learned from the past, focusing on issues tied to county funding, program administration, and areas that benefit from intergovernmental cooperation. The plan is informed by the work of 10 stakeholder focus groups, comprising over 180 members, who provide ongoing input to shape county priorities.
This year’s update will highlight key priorities, including:
- Expanding the Ellicott Trail east to Monroe County and west to Erie County.
- Advancing Phase 3 of the County Water Project and extending utilities for industrial growth.
- Strengthening housing opportunities and exploring a countywide housing strategy.
- Supporting law enforcement, fire, and EMS through regional initiatives and competitive compensation.
- Protecting farmland while balancing energy development.
- Coordinating countywide zoning, code enforcement, and assessment processes.
“All are welcome to attend this presentation and learn how community priorities are shaping the future of Genesee County,” said Felipe Oltramari, Director of Planning.
