OFA Seeks Nominations for Older New Yorkers Day

Batavia, NY — The Genesee County Office for the Aging is now accepting nominations for Older New Yorkers Day, a statewide celebration that honors older adults who make a meaningful difference in their communities through volunteerism and service.
Each year, Older New Yorkers Day recognizes individuals who exemplify healthy aging, civic pride, and a commitment to helping others. The Genesee County Office for the Aging is seeking nominations of county residents who actively volunteer and give back through community involvement.
Who should be nominated?
- Genesee County residents who volunteer their time and talents
- Individuals involved in civic engagement, healthcare, human services, emergency management, fundraising, or advocacy efforts
Why nominate someone?
- Celebrate healthy aging and active lifestyles
- Highlight the importance of community involvement
- Recognize older adults who lead by example and inspire others
Nominated individuals represent the many older adults who strengthen Genesee County through service, leadership, and compassion.
All nomination materials must be submitted by February 27, 2026.
