Genesee County law enforcement agencies, including the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and City of Batavia Police Department, are participating in a coordinated statewide effort to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.

The STOP-DWI End of Summer/Labor Day High Visibility Engagement Campaign is underway through Monday, September 7. Law enforcement officers across New York State are increasing efforts to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives.

Plan a Safe Ride Home

  • Call a taxi, rideshare service or sober friend.
  • Never drive after consuming alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not allow an impaired person to get behind the wheel. Take their keys and help arrange a safe ride home.

STOP-DWI efforts across New York have contributed to significant reductions in alcohol- and drug-related fatalities. However, too many lives continue to be lost in crashes caused by impaired drivers. Highly visible campaigns like this one aim to further reduce impaired driving and keep New York’s roads safe.
