Genesee County OFA Announces Aging Forward Expo

Batavia, NY – The Genesee County Office for the Aging invites residents to attend the Aging Forward Expo, a community-focused event that promotes healthy aging, brain wellness, caregiving support, and lifelong learning.
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Genesee Community College, 1 College Road, Batavia. There will be a $5 admission fee that includes lunch.
The Aging Forward Expo will bring together local organizations, service providers, and experts to share information and resources that support older adults, caregivers, and families. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational sessions, hear from a featured keynote speaker, and connect with community agencies.
Keynote Presentation
The day will begin with a keynote presentation by Beth Nolan, PhD, titled “Maintain Your Brain: Simple Habits for Healthy Aging.” The presentation will provide practical insights into maintaining cognitive health and overall well-being.
Breakout Session Topics
- Coping with challenging caregiving situations
- Estate planning
- Alzheimer’s research and brain health strategies
- Geriatric care and practical health guidance
- Building confidence in hands-on caregiving skills
- Lifelong learning opportunities through Genesee Community College
- Falls prevention and physical wellness
- Sexual wellness for older adults
Lunch and Networking
A lunch and agency networking session will be held following the presentations, allowing participants to connect directly with local service providers and explore available resources.
Respite Care Information
Caregivers in need of assistance are encouraged to inquire about available respite care options, which may provide short-term care for loved ones during the event. Please call 585-343-1611 for assistance.
