Genesee County Historian Book Signing and Release New Work
Published on July 09, 2025
Genesee County Historian Dr. Michael Eula will be featured at an upcoming book talk and signing event on Saturday, July 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Best Cellar Book Bar, located at 9560 Main Street, Suite 3, Clarence, NY.
Dr. Eula will be signing copies of Historic Chronicles of Genesee County, joining nine other local authors—most of whom are novelists from Erie County. He will be the sole representative from Genesee County at the event, offering a unique perspective on the area’s rich and often overlooked history.
In addition, Dr. Eula’s newest book, Hidden History of Genesee County, is set to be released in late summer by NFB Press in Buffalo. Affiliated with the University at Buffalo’s Poetry Consortium, NFB Press is known for its focus on literary fiction and historical works.
Hidden History of Genesee County explores a wide range of topics and features eight chapters, including:
-
Emory Upton and the Formation of Modern America
-
The Idea of Freedom, the Civil War, and Genesee County
-
Protestants in Genesee County
-
Hidden Illnesses
-
American Culture and Cookbooks in Genesee County, 1830 to 1920
-
Enslaved and Poor Women in Genesee County
The book includes 41 illustrations and has received high praise in advance reviews for its accessible writing, in-depth research, and compelling narrative.
Residents interested in local history, culture, and storytelling are encouraged to attend the event or look for the book's release later this summer.
