Genesee County has begun a restoration project at the historic Holland Land Office facility in Batavia. The work will help maintain and preserve the County-owned building while addressing several exterior, interior and building-system needs.

Project Work

The restoration project includes:

  • Masonry and stone veneer repair, repointing and restoration
  • Restoration of the roof, exterior trim, portico, fascia and columns
  • Repairs to windows, doors and other exterior building components
  • Interior finish work, including plaster repair and painting
  • Updates to HVAC, restrooms and life-safety systems

Construction is underway and will be completed in phases through fall 2026 and spring 2027.

The Holland Land Office Museum operates from the historic facility and will continue to provide updates as work progresses.

Intermittent building closures may be necessary during portions of construction. Information about any impacts to public access will be shared as needed.
