Genesee County will change the traffic pattern at the intersection of West Bergen Road and Griswold Road in the Town of Le Roy to improve safety for motorists traveling through the area.
Following a review of the intersection’s crash history and other safety considerations, the intersection will be converted to a four-way stop.
Weather permitting, Genesee County Department of Public Works crews are scheduled to install new STOP and STOP AHEAD signs on West Bergen Road on October 6, 2026. Once the work is complete, all four approaches to the intersection will be controlled by stop signs.
Orange flags will be placed on the stop signs to help draw attention to the new traffic pattern. Variable message boards will also be placed along West Bergen Road in advance of the change to notify motorists.
Drivers who regularly travel through the area should use extra caution as they adjust to the new traffic pattern. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, remain alert and watch for the new signage.
