Environmental Science Summer Camp will be held Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17, 2026. Camp Hard Hat will be held Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31, 2026.

Environmental Science Summer Camp
Environmental Science Summer Camp is a week-long day camp for students entering grades 7-10. Campers explore environmental science careers and participate in hands-on activities led by local environmental professionals.
Activities may include stream studies, wildlife surveys, field trips to area parks, wilderness survival skills, fishing, kayaking and more.
Camp Scholarship
A camp scholarship may be available to cover the Environmental Science Summer Camp fee for a student in need.
If you are interested in applying, email Claudia Nusstein, Conservation Education Program Coordinator, at Claudia.Nusstein@geneseeny.gov before registering for camp.
Use the subject line Environmental Science Summer Camp Scholarship_ Students Name and include:
- Camper name
- Camper grade
- Camper school
- Two to three sentences describing why the camper would benefit from Environmental Science Summer Camp
Scholarship emails must be received by Friday, May 1, 2026 to be considered.
Register for Environmental Science Summer Camp
Registration is available online or with a paper form. The registration fee is $95 per camper. Registration forms and payment must be received by June 15, 2026.

Important: Camper Health Forms are required and must be submitted by the first day of camp. Forms will be sent after registration and must be signed by your child's physician. Please allow at least two weeks for your physician to complete the forms.
What to Bring to Environmental Science Summer Camp
The following items are recommended each day:
- Lunch, snacks and drinks
- Weather-appropriate clothing, including sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Raincoat or hat; umbrellas are not recommended
- Refillable water bottle labeled with the camper's name
- Hat and sunglasses
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Small backpack
- Chest waders for Monday; waders are provided if needed
Environmental Science Summer Camp Schedule
Camp Hard Hat
Camp Hard Hat is a week-long day camp for students ages 12-15 that provides hands-on experience through a community-based construction project.
The camp introduces participants to careers in the skilled trades and is presented by Genesee Valley BOCES and the Genesee County Business Education Alliance.
